Ola Rune, Claesson Koivisto Rune:

"With Caina restaurant, we've created a traditional Italian eatery that will really feel both Italian and traditional, even rustic, but with a sharp modern edge. It will be an open room, but with secluded booths, as there usually are in Italian restaurants. The color scale will relate to that of the rest of the hotel, but with somewhat warmer tones. We've designed a geometrically patterned marble floor especially for the restaurant — our modern take on the historic palazzo floors. The furniture has the character of a traditional restaurant, for example with Thonet-resembling chairs, but in modern versions. One challenge is that the restaurant must also work as a breakfast room, so we've built a buffet that will serve as a food and drink display in the evenings. A central piece in the restaurant is the ceiling lighting, which is a giant light cloud designed by Frank Gehry, casting a soft and pleasant light across the dining room."

"From the lounge cathedral you will enter the Golden Bar, which is almost like a shrine, small and intimate, with a low ceiling. Here we have gone all out, with walls clad entirely in golden mirrors that we've found in Germany, and a multitude of light spots that will reflect and multiply in eternity in these golden mirrors. It will be a most intense, kaleidoscopic, deceptive experience. Our inspiration is a magical installation by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama that we saw in New York."

"The atmosphere in the 24/7 bistro will also be more intense and intimate, with a higher level of sound and scent, compared with the more tranquil and sophisticated Caina restaurant. Our reference is classic Italian and Spanish bars, with giant mirrors and plenty of bottles and food on display. The bar is entirely plated in a modern mosaic of our own design, with a wonderful zinc counter."

Eero Koivisto, Claesson Koivisto Rune:

"All the above mentioned public spaces, except the spa, can be experienced as one great, really generous, 800 square meter entity united by the white marble floor."
