Public facilities
The Lobby
Ola Rune, Claesson Koivisto Rune:
"The lobby is important, with symbolic values, since it gives you your first impression of the hotel. It's spacious and generous, with a large and comfortable group of sofas and easy chairs where you can sit and relax in style while waiting for friends or transportation, for example. The front desk is a statement, made in high-tech steel that has been rusted through and then sealed. We have also created a quite beautiful lighting installation composed of about twenty contemporary glass light balls from various designers and manufacturers. It was fun to find that we were able to gather that many."
The lounge
Eero Koivisto, Claesson Koivisto Rune:
"We designed the lounge as four separate living rooms, furnished in similar ways, but with different furniture. These living rooms will very comfortably seat more than 50 people, but the entire lounge can easily take 150 or 200 with people standing. This room will have a special and pretty magnificent feeling with the 25-plus meter ceiling height, almost like a cathedral. In the ceiling, we have designed a multi-color, kaleidoscopic surface — a kind of modern take on a church ceiling fresco painting."
Spa & fitness centre
Mårten Claesson, Claesson Koivisto Rune:
"The gym and the spa will have a different character from the rest of the hotel, to create the sensation that you're entering into a secluded, soothing refuge. Here we have chosen lighter colors for the walls, a turquoise ceiling and a bamboo wood floor. There will be a white marble sauna department with one dry and one steam sauna. The gym will have mirrors and attractive lighting where you can feel privileged and select, while at the same time retreating into your own world of body work, with a view of an atrium where we hope to create a winter garden."
